the elbow joint. The biceps, attached at a distance of 2.75 cm from the
elbow exerts just enough upward force on the forearm to keep the system in
static equilibrium. Consider the forearm and hand to be a uniform rod
with a mass of 1.20 kg.
- Determine the force exerted by the biceps.
- Is the force exerted by the biceps more than, less than, or equal
to the combined weight of the forearm, hand and baseball? Explain.
