Research in the Department

The research focus of the department has been Condensed-Matter Physics (formerly called Solid-State Physics). This was a deliberate choice, given that we were a small department, and given that OCUFA approval is needed to offer graduate studies. It was a reasonable choice in 1968, given the areas of research of most of the department members at that time.
