Downloading Graphics

With most World Wide Web browsers, you may save a file to the local hard drive. The exact steps will depend on which application you are using. Below are the steps for the most popular Web browsers.

NetScape (version 1.1 and later)

  1. For Macintosh, click the mouse down on the desired image and hold it until a pop-up menu appears. For Windows, click the mouse down with the right mouse button to see the menu.
  2. Select Save this Image As... from the pop-up menu.
  3. When prompted, save the file with an appropriate name and location.

NCSA Mosaic, EIT MacWeb or WinWeb

  1. Select Load to Disk from the Options menu
  2. Click on the link to the desired picture.
  3. When prompted, save the file with an appropriate name and location
  4. De-Select Load to Disk from the Options menu
