Weekly homework
Just as in learning any endeavour, regular daily work leads to the best results. Do your best to keep up with the training program. You will get the best results by doing consistent, daily work on each course every day.
Weekly homeworks must be completed on the Masteringphysics website. Work must be submitted by the deadline and late work will not be accepted.
Tutorials will be graded. They are also a place where you can work together with other students, and get help from your TA. Help each other and learn together!
Seek help immediately if you need to. There are plenty of resources available, so make sure to use them for your maximum benefit!
And off note:
Your studies will be more memorable and enjoyable if you do consistent work every day rather than doing a lot of work one day and then not touching the subject again until next week. So do a little bit every day on each course. This will better prepare you for subsequent homework, mid-term test and our final exam.
Read the chapter before and after lecture. This will help you understand the material. Also keep in mind that you don't have to understand everything beforehand, but reading the material before class will make your class-time enjoyable. Take notes and focus on the key concepts. Write down any points that you don't understand and ask about them in class or in-person.
For a better learning process, I will suggest that you read the concepts, think and correleate with your current understanding, and use these concepts to solve numerical problems. It will reinforce the concepts and will develop your problem-solving skills.
University courses are very fast paced, as you know. Do everything in your power to keep up. Falling behind in a physics class is particularly deadly, because typically each chapter builds on the previous one, so falling behind tends to lead to a vicious cycle, because then the next chapter becomes that much more difficult.
Avoid the nightmare of falling behind. Be consistent and keep up.
Simulate exams. That is, before the mid-term test and the final exam, take some time, put away your books, get out your formula sheet and attempt a practice exam. You will very quickly determine what you know well and what you still have to work on to prepare yourself thoroughly.
Hard work pays off; if you've made it this far, you know you're smart enough to do well in this course. Consistent, daily effort is the best way to learn efficiently and thoroughly.
Work hard and be persistent! I am confident that you will do well!
