My research lies within the field of quantum many-body systems, particularly within magnetic systems. Our ultimate goal is to discover new quantum spin states in materials, including the elusive quantum spin liquid state. To understand the ground state of quantum materials, we have a synthesis laboratory here at Brock and a number of characterization facilities on campus. We leverage these resources to apply for beamtime to use neutron scattering instruments at large facilities, like Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source.
