Volunteer to become a guide!

The organizing committee must provide a team of guides who will accompany the participating teams for the entire period of their stay in Sudbury. Each participating nation will be assigned one guide. Each guide will live with the students from the hosted team from July 13th to July 21st, 1997. The guides will facilitate the team's stay and activities by offering linguistics help, by providing community liaison, by joining in planned activities, etc.

All guides will be lodged with the students in the Single Students Residence at Laurentian University. Transportation to and from Sudbury and back will be paid for (depending on price and distance). Meals will be provided.

 

The only essential criteria to become a guide is:

The guide must be available for the entire time of the Physics Olympiad (24 hours a day, from July 13th to July 21st, 1997).

The following are considered as assets to become a guide:

The guide should be mature and be able to relate to the team members and their age group (15-18). Where possible, teams will be assigned to guides who speak the same language.
