Weekly Homework and Quizzes

Homework assignments are delivered through WeBWork. Questions cover the material assigned during the lectures of the preceding 2 weeks.

    • The weekly test for the first two weeks ( dates: Jan 17 & Jan 24) will be done through WeBWork. The weekly test is a 50-min test. The test will be available on WeBWork for a window of time that will be determined by the course instructor. However, note that Once you start the test, you only have 50 minutes to finish and submit your answers.
    • Important Instructions to complete the weekly WeBWork test.
    • Unless the text of the problem explicitly asks for sig figs, assume that the default precision WW requires to accept a numerical answer as correct is to be within a relative tolerance of 0.005, or 0.5% of the value. Typically, this translates into about four sig figs.

    Solve the follow-up questions and problems at the end of the section. Working on solving various problems makes you develope the ability to plan out a solution for any problem within a reasonable timeframe. In addition to developping other skills such as sketching a quick scenario and identifying the correct formula to use. The link below contains the answers for odd-numbered problems from the textbook. The odd-numbered problems will allow your to make sure, and the even-numbered ones will allow you to test yourself. You must learn to have enough confidence in your skills to solve even those problems where the answer is not known in advance. Both are integral to the learning process.
